Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Last Updated: January 1, 2026
Emblem PE Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Emblem", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered due diligence platform, our Microsoft Office Add-ins (including Emblem for Excel and Emblem for PowerPoint), our Emblem Listen desktop application, and related services (the "Service").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account registration information (name, email, company name, job title)
- Payment and billing information
- Documents and files you upload to our platform
- Communications with us (support requests, feedback)
- Any other information you choose to provide
1.2 Information We Automatically Collect
- Usage data (features used, actions taken, time spent)
- Device information (browser type, operating system)
- IP address and approximate location
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies
1.3 Cloud Storage Integration
When you connect third-party services (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox), we access only the files and folders you explicitly authorize, solely for the purpose of providing our Service.
1.4 Information from Emblem Office Add-ins (Excel and PowerPoint)
When you use the Emblem for Excel add-in, the add-in transmits to our servers: (a) the chat messages you send, (b) the contents of cell ranges that you select or that the AI is instructed to read on your behalf, and (c) the names of worksheets in your active workbook. The add-in writes cell values, formulas, formatting, and hyperlinks back into your workbook only at your direction or at the AI's direction in response to your request.
When you use the Emblem for PowerPoint add-in, the add-in transmits to our servers: (a) the chat messages you send, (b) an image (screenshot) of the slide you are currently working on, (c) a structured description of that slide's shapes — including shape identifiers, positions, and any text they contain — so the AI can see and edit the slide accurately, and (d) a short outline of the presentation, such as slide count and titles. The add-in adds or edits slide content — text boxes, shapes, tables, pictures, and formatting — only at your direction or at the AI's direction in response to your request.
Neither add-in accesses any data outside the workbook cells or slide content explicitly involved in a given chat turn, and neither exfiltrates any document data without an explicit, user-initiated action.
1.5 Information from Emblem Listen (desktop application)
Emblem Listen is a desktop application that records and transcribes calls. It captures audio only while you are actively recording. Specifically:
- Audio capture. When you start a recording, the app captures your selected microphone and, if you enable it, your computer's system audio. Audio is saved locally on your device in real time during the recording.
- Transcription. To produce a transcript, the recorded audio is sent to our transcription provider (Deepgram) over an encrypted connection. We do not permit the audio or transcripts to be used to train third-party models.
- Sync to your account. When processing succeeds, the transcript is created in your Emblem account and the audio recording is uploaded to your Emblem storage, so it becomes searchable alongside your other materials.
- Local storage. Recording metadata, transcripts, and (until processing succeeds) the audio files are stored locally on your device — for example in a local database and a recordings folder — so a network interruption never loses a call. You can retry processing, open, or delete these local recordings at any time.
Emblem Listen records audio only during an active, user-initiated recording session, and uploads a recording only at your direction or as part of processing a recording you started. Your operating system controls microphone permission, which you grant on first use.
