Box Integration Guide

Learn how to connect your Box account to Emblem and sync your documents seamlessly.

Overview

Emblem's Box integration allows you to connect your Box account and automatically sync documents to your deals. This guide will walk you through the setup process and show you how to manage your synced documents.

Step 1: Access Integrations

Navigate to your team settings and select the “Integrations” tab. Here you'll see all available integrations including Box.

Click the “Connect” button next to Box to begin the integration process.

  • You'll be redirected to Box to authenticate your account
  • Grant Emblem permission to access your Box folders
  • You'll be redirected back to Emblem once authenticated

Step 2: Select Box Folders to Sync

After connecting your Box account, you can select specific folders to sync with your deals. Navigate to a deal and access the Documents section.

To sync a Box folder with your deal:

  1. Click on the Box integration icon in your deal's document section
  2. Browse your Box folder structure in the selection dialog
  3. Select the folder you want to sync with this deal
  4. Click “Sync Selected Folder” to begin syncing

Note: You can only sync one folder from Box to a single deal. Shared folders that you have access to will also appear in the selection dialog.

Step 3: View and Manage Synced Documents

Once synced, all documents from your selected Box folders will appear in your deal's document list. Files are automatically kept in sync with Box.

Working with synced documents:

  • Documents are marked with a green “Indexed” status when successfully synced
  • File sizes and modification dates are preserved from Box
  • You can search and filter through synced documents just like native Emblem documents
  • Use Emblem's AI to analyze and extract insights from your Box documents
  • Changes made in Box are automatically reflected in Emblem

Additional Features

Automatic Syncing

Emblem automatically checks for new or updated files in your synced Box folders. Any changes are reflected in your deals within minutes.

Selective Sync

Choose exactly which Box folders to sync with each deal. You maintain full control over what documents are accessible in Emblem.

AI Analysis

Once synced, use Emblem's AI capabilities to analyze your Box documents, extract key information, and generate insights.

Security

Your Box credentials are securely stored and all data transfers are encrypted. Emblem never modifies your original Box files.

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

If you're having trouble connecting your Box account, ensure you have the necessary permissions in Box and try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration.

Sync Delays

While syncing is typically instant, large folders or files may take a few minutes to appear. Check the indexing status for progress updates.

Missing Folders

If you don't see a Box folder in the selection dialog, ensure you have at least viewer permissions for that folder in Box.
